5 Basketball Moves You Must Practice
Practice will make you a better basketball player. You will hear that over and over because it is true. However, you may not know what to practice if you are part of an organized team. You may wonder what you should be practicing to make your game better.
Here are five essential basketball moves that you need to practice and master in order to be the best player you can be. Some of the moves you can practice alone, but others will require a partner. If you can find someone to practice with every time you practice that would help you out. Plus it helps to keep you focused and motivated.
Move #1: Dribbling
Dribbling should be practiced often. Predictable players are targets, and your ability to manage and maneuver are directly related to you dribbling skills.
You should practice dribbling in a straight line as well as agility drills where you dribble in a wavy line or in other patterns other then a straight line down the court.
It is nice to start and end practice with some dribbling drills.
Move #2: Passing
You will need a partner for practicing passing. You should practice the different types of passes. You can start with one type, like the chest pass and then move into another type of pass like the bounce pass. Then you can alternate between a few different passes.
One great way to practice is to start by standing still and warming up. Then you should move down the court as you are passing. It is important to incorporate moving passes since the majority of passes on the court will be while you are moving.
Move #3: Shooting
Shooting is almost a given in practice. Most people only practice shooting. While shooting is important it is not the only part of the game. However, you always should practice your shots.
Make sure to practice shots from all around the court. You should practice a variety of shots like slam dunks jump shots and lay ups in addition to set shots.
Move #4: Guarding
Guarding is an essential part of basketball. You should practice guarding both offensively and defensively. You have to be able to stop the ball and stop other players.
Drills should be created that help you to learn how to anticipate moves and how to move efficiently.
Move #5: Rebounding
Rebounding is all about control. You have to be able to get the ball after a basket or the other team may just get it and your chance to score is lost.
Rebounding is something you can practice over an over by yourself, but it is best done with a partner. You want to make the basket and try to rebound. You want to have them make the basket and you grab the rebound.
Mix it up and work until you master all these skills. You want o be able to do them all efficiently and with good technique. This will allow you to be the best player you can be.

soccer goalie advice? all soccer players plz answer

ok so i havnt played soccer since i was like 1 grade and im going into 8 grade (i no long time) but i want to be goalie (you make the team no matter what but i want to be good and play alot) and im planning on practicing all summer but i cannot get myself to dive for the ball and even if sum1 kicking misses the goal i still need to go for the ball (well most of the time you know) and if sum1 dribbling the ball comes in and its me and them im not good with knowing if i come out and block them or block the goal
so my quest. is can goalies/or any soccer players plz plz plz plz plz give me advice and mayb sum drills or a good mentality to get me 2 go/dive for the ball and help me get better ![]()
i play basketbal and im pretty good and im good with my hands and ok with my feet thats y i want to be goalie! im an athlete so sports come pretty easy with me ![]()

Here it is:
It’s a fact that many highly talented footballers worthy of playing on an international level and sharing centre stage with Lionel Messi , will never get there due to laziness or unawareness of how to do so. There are many avenues that one can take to reach the top flight, however if you would like to reach that goal, I would suggest that you follow these guidelines, they would most definitely improve your game. Please note that I am an armchair critic and not a seasoned player.
-Eat healthily- The food you eat can influence your sprint speed, concentration and reaction time, all of which are vitally important to a footballer. A healthy diet rich in carbohydrates will benefit your game.
-Sleep well- Great things cannot be achieved without getting
The basics correct, furthermore a professional player can be made to look like an amateur if insufficient sleep is acquired. Insufficient sleep will lead to poor alertness lapses in concentration and make you vulnerable to schoolboy errors. Players whom are not as talented as you may look better than you on the pitch.
-Eat breakfast before playing- Breakfast will provide you with energy and increase your stamina. If you fail to eat it you may tire quickly.
-Ensure that you are hydrated while playing/ practising- If you play being dehydrated or tired, you will not be playing to the best of your ability.
-Practise often- Without this you will go nowhere. It allows you to identify weak points and naturally gradually improve your game.
-Join a club- Those who do not play at a club level are unlikely to ever make it, no matter how talented they are. Talent scouts from big teams also often watch amateur games in search of new talent. Many footballers who you see on television made it because of this.
-Have sportsmanship while playing- If a coach or talent scout sees a badly behaved player, they may not considered for selection no matter how gifted they are.
-Take coach advice seriously- In most cases coaches know more than you and have more experience than you. Taking their advice seriously will benefit your game and team performances.
-Stay fit- This is a must. You can do so by jogging, running, swimming, gymming etc.during your spare time. Your fitness levels influence your game tremendously. Fitter folk boast superior flexibility, stamina, sprint speed, reaction times and power than their non- fit counterparts in most cases. Those qualities being good are essential for footballers.
-Don’t take negative critism seriously- Every club player, whether amateur or professional experiences negative critism at some point. Nasty folk often refer to them using vulgarity forgetting that they are only humans. Sadly many players especially amateurs feel demotivated or angry after this and quit the sport. If this happens to you remain calm and think to yourself “Ill prove this person wrong next time around”. Don’t take it seriously, it could dampen your spirits and affect your game.
-Have a positive mindset always- People with a positive mindset are more likely to achieve their goals than those who do not. The same applies in football. A negative approach will do no good whatsoever.
-Watch live matches on television- This will broaden your knowledge of the game the game as a whole. By watching the pros do their thing, you might also learn a few tactics or moves in the process.
-Never criticize a team mate- No matter what type of error is made, a team mate should never be criticised. Doing so will only ruin friendships, sink confidence and cause conflict. It is also poor sportsmanship.
Ensure that you warm up before practising or playing. That is a must.
